Synopsis

Seven years ago the Thistle Company — two hundred mercenary spears — was massacred in a single night by its own captain, during an Eclipse the hill peasants swear they saw: the sun rising black and the whole valley screaming until morning. One soldier was left, a greatsword, and a three-hundred-crown bounty on an innocent head. Now the baron the Company served offers the impossible — a royal pardon — in exchange for climbing to Blackrock and finding out why the war's dead are crawling out of the ground. No one mentions the man in white armor who hasn't aged a day.

This book contains explicit violence, body horror, death, drink, and despair in honest measure. The frontier doesn't apologize — neither does this book. Every choice closes doors. Some close coffins.
